GIVE ME THE LIGHTS
AMOS:
Life can be grey at times, really grey. Routine becomes dull and painful and you just need to break free from it, to lose yourself. You need to fix it, soothe your darkness, let some light in,
Personally speaking, I like to let the strobe lights in, the glitter balls and the disco. Music is a healer, the most beautiful and amazing thing that the human race has, as well as love and the written word, Music is the ultimate therapist, the best pill, the best antidote to the grey of the world. Music brings the colour in.
Even in your home you can turn your world into a discotheque, a club or ballroom. Whatever makes you feel better. When I need escape, I imagine a dance floor that is my own, glitter all around, a disco ball spinning above my head and lights pulsing and caressing me as the music throbs. In my world I am alone and at one with the music. And the best music for me when I feel dark, or grey or whatever? Confessions On A Dancefloor by Madonna. Yes, I am obsessed with Madonna, my Queen and Saviour, and her melodies are like the best chocolate in the world to me, the best, the best, the best. And that album lets me escape. I get drawn into her disco and it becomes mine and colour comes crashing back in like a tsunami.
There, that’s me done for the week.
